Portland, ME (PRWEB) June 27, 2007 -- The Institute for Financial Literacy is pleased to announce that it is accepting nominations for the Excellence in Financial Literacy Education? Awards (The EIFLE.) The EIFLE Award was created to acknowledge innovation, dedication and the commitment of those supporting financial literacy education. Award categories include Educator of the Year, Organization of the Year and Books/Curricula of the Year. The EIFLE Awards will be presented at the 2007 Annual Conference on Financial Education to be held in Dallas, Texas on October 3-5.

"The Excellence In Financial Literacy Education Award is an exciting opportunity to acknowledge the growing field of financial literacy and those who work in support of this important cause." said Leslie E. Linfield, Executive Director of the Institute for Financial Literacy. "We need to reward those who work both professionally and as volunteers to improve the financial knowledge of our communities."

Nominations for the EIFLE Awards are being accepted through August 3, 2007. Applications and criteria for nominations can be found at the Institute for Financial Literacy's website www.financiallit.org.

The Institute for Financial Literacy is a non-profit organization whose mission is to make effective financial literacy education available to all American adults. The Institute accomplishes its mission by developing financial literacy education programs, partnering with non-profit, educational and governmental organizations to integrate these programs into their existing services, and publishing the National Standards in Adult Financial Literacy Education.

The Annual Conference on Financial Education provides professional development opportunities for individuals who work with financial literacy education.
