Santa Fe, TX (PRWEB) August 4, 2007 -- Homes For Our Troops, a non-profit organization that provides specially adapted homes for severely wounded veterans, announced today that it would be hosting a Volunteer Day at the site of the project for a severely wounded US Army soldier, SSG Shawn Monroe sponsored by the Texas Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Shawn was injured during a mortar attack outside a Baghdad police station. As a result of that blast, Shawn was left with an above the knee amputation of his left leg, and severe injuries to his right leg. He gets around now with the use of prosthetics, crutches and a wheelchair.

Kirt Rebello, Homes For Our Troops, Director of Projects & Veterans Affairs, and volunteers in the community of Santa Fe, would like to extend an invitation to your organization to share in this event with SSG Shawn Monroe, his wife and their three children.
