Tempe, AZ (PRWEB) March 4, 2008 -- Martha Rodriguez Hoffman, an instructor of Aesthetics at the International Academy, College of Hair and Aesthetics, 4812 S. Mill Ave. in Tempe, has been promoted to Director of Education. Her duties include teaching Theory to all students from the Intermediate to the Clinic sections, as well as overseeing instructors, booking guest speakers and performing administrative duties as needed.

In addition to her experience in the field of aesthetics, Hoffman was the first Spanish-speaking Aesthetician in the state of Arizona to receive her CIDESCO diploma in Aesthetics. The CIDESCO Diploma is the world's most prestigious qualification in the field of Aesthetics and Beauty Therapy. Since 1957 the CIDESCO qualification has set standards that have been imitated over the five continents of the globe. Hoffman is a writer for the Spanish newspaper Prensa Hispana. She also writes for Salon Plus magazine.

"Martha has been very committed to be the very best in the Aesthetics field for herself, as well as her students," said Jessica Wolman, one of the owners of the Aesthetics academy. "At the International Academy, College of Aesthetics, we understand that a successful career in Aesthetics starts with a solid curriculum, excellent instruction and educators who serve as role models who can inspire students to do their best. Martha is the epitome of excellence in all these areas."

Hoffman, an immigrant from Bogota, Colombia, began her career as a nail technician in Boston, MA. She opened her own Day Spa and learned English from her clients. After 14 years she sold her business and moved to Arizona with her husband, Stephen and daughters Erica and Christy. Once in the Valley, Hoffman honed her expertise in sales as an agent for a special skin care line from France. She is entering her sixth year as an Aesthetics instructor for International Academy, College of Aesthetics (formerly the National Aesthetics Institute).

Each classroom has a flat screen television with detailed power-point presentations to ensure quality and consistency. Students also receive hands-on training, however they do not work on clients until the final phase of their education (starting on the 16th week of the 20-week program).

The Aesthetics school also offers an instructor course outline for those who want to teach that consists of a 500-hour program that trains the student in the basic teaching skills, educational judgments, proper work habits, and desirable attitudes necessary to pass the State Board examination and for competency in job entry level employment as an instructor or related career avenue.
